One word: Respect. While no one thing can solve every problem. It seems to me that “Respect” is right up there as one of our portals to set a lot of things in the right path.
If prejudices were turned into respect, they would disappear. This works on both personal and cultural levels.
I am not a biblical person, but I do agree that there are many very good passages in the book that we can use. “Do unto others as you would do for yourself.” and “Let whomever has not sinned cast the first stone.” are two that come to mind.
So many people seem to be getting angry so easily. Who hasn’t mistakenly had a close call? Choose allowance, respect the other person. We are all human and everyone wants a joyful life. “Be the change you want to see.” -Mahatma Ghandi.
If we work at every level to show respect. Imagine the possibilities.
People of all colors, nationalities sexual orientation and ideological sensibilities bring incredible value and worthiness to the human process. Let’s find ways to express appreciation and respect.
You have no idea what they are going through so next time you are confronted with something that upsets you, stay calm, recognize what is happening and choose a different path, respect.
Let’s not let the boiling frog syndrome get the better of us. We a conscious part of nature who can make a choice. We are given the opportunity in every moment. Let’s make an effort to make a choice toward what we want. In reality what other good choice is there?
